Caitlin VanDuzer is a member of Miller Thomson’s litigation group, focusing on commercial issues, insurance defence, personal injury, health law, and other litigation matters.
Caitlin is an avid equestrian. She has competed provincially on the Ontario show-jumping circuit and played polo at the Toronto Polo Club for a number of years. Her love for the sport has accumulated into a special interest in « equine law », for which she has assisted a number of clients with respect to various disputes involving horses.
Caitlin joined Miller Thomson as a student in 2020 and concluded her articles with the firm in 2022. She obtained her JD from the University of Ottawa where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she held a research assistant position focusing on surrogacy and organ donation. Caitlin completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University in International Development studies, with a primary focus in political science and economics.
Prior to law school, she worked in the not-for-profit sector where she focused on health law, mental health law, and bioethics.
During law school, Caitlin was involved in the Ontario Educational Justice Network. She was also involved in the Women in Law Leadership Program as a mentor. Caitlin also volunteered with the Ottawa Law Classic, which aims to raise money for mental health research.

- Successfully argued to dismiss applications to renew three Notices of Civil Claim after their expiry in the Supreme Court of British Columbia (Gao v Nicholson et al, Li v Nicholson et al and Meng v Nicholson et al)
- Successfully argued an application in the Supreme Court of British Columbia to strike the majority of a Notice of Claim in relation to claims brought forward against Wynford Realty Group Ltd. (The Owners, Strata Plan VR437 v Association of Woodcroft Councils et al)
