Hiring
The London office generally hires two students for its articling program.
Student Experience
Our students are exposed to a wide variety of experiences during his or her articling year. Our students are given the opportunity to, among other things, assist and accompany lawyers to discoveries, hearings, trials, mediations, commercial deal closings and client meetings. Our students also assign and have full carriage of Small Claims Court files.
Social Events
We encourage our students to participate in all aspects of firm life, including the firm’s social activities and student-specific activities through the local law associations.
Mentoring
As part of our support structure, our articling students are paired with a partner who acts as an articling principal. Other members of the Student Committee also act as resources and liaisons to our student.
Feedback
We evaluate our student’s progress through a formal evaluation process, which occurs mid-way through the articling program term (usually in January).
Professional Development
Throughout articling, our students will continue his or her professional development with additional continuing legal education programs designed specifically for him or her. As in the summer program, our students are invited to attend all firm-wide and practice-specific continuing legal education programs.
